Do I need experience?
No. Beginners are very welcome. We explain everything calmly and guide you step by step. Experienced participants receive a challenge that matches their level.
What is the minimum age?
Our experiences are for young and old, from age 6. We adapt the challenge to each participant.
What is the minimum group size?
Experiences normally start at 4 people. Smaller groups and private sessions are possible by arrangement.
How long does an experience take?
The Climbing Experience takes approximately 3.5 hours, including instruction and preparation. The Abseil Experience takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on group size.
Can I participate if I am afraid of heights?
Absolutely. This can make the experience especially meaningful. You determine the pace and challenge. With Jorinde’s background as a social psychologist and coach, there is extra attention for confidence and tension.

Climbing takes place at Fort Beekenburg. For abseiling, we meet at the Tugboat Beach car park and hike to Kabrietenberg. Other locations are possible by arrangement.
Is equipment included?
Yes. We provide the helmet, harness, ropes, carabiners and all other required equipment. Climbing shoes are also included for climbing.
What does it cost?
Climbing costs 100 XCG p.p., abseiling 100 XCG p.p. and the combo 175 XCG p.p.
What makes the abseiling experience complete?
It is much more than a descent. The experience includes the hike to the location, stories about the surroundings and local history, preparation, personal guidance and a controlled 35-metre descent.
What clothing and footwear should I wear?
Wear comfortable sports clothing that allows you to move freely and sturdy shoes suitable for uneven, rocky terrain. Sports sandals may be suitable, but flip-flops are not. Shorts are cooler but provide less protection against the rock.
What should I bring?
Bring at least 1.5 litres of water per person, a snack, sunscreen and optionally insect repellent. A small backpack is useful for the abseiling hike. A towel and swimwear are a nice addition if you want to enter the water afterwards.
What should I know about long hair and jewellery?
Tie back and secure long hair. Do not wear rings, bracelets, large earrings or other jewellery that could become caught in the equipment.
May I drink alcohol or use other intoxicating substances beforehand?
No. Do not use alcohol or other intoxicating substances before or during the activity. You must start fit, sober and alert.
How is safety checked?
The guides explain every step, manage the ropes and inspect your equipment before each climbing or abseiling round. Belaying is performed exclusively by the guides. During abseiling you are secured whenever you approach the edge and starting point.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 48 hours before the start, you receive a full refund. For cancellations within 48 hours, a 50% cancellation fee applies.
How can I pay?
Cash payments are accepted in Caribbean guilders (XCG) or US dollars (USD). Card payments are processed in euros (EUR). Exchange-rate differences and bank charges are outside the responsibility of Growth Adventures.
